The Micro Laser Peel – Retouching for your Skin

Part1

Micro Laser Peel in Toronto

Another of the scientifically beautiful transformations offered by the skin care therapists at Avenue Skin Care in Toronto is the Micro Laser Peel. This is yet another refinement in the area of skin resurfacing. The technique works by removing the outermost layer of skin, using a precise resurfacing system. By removing both the dead surface layer of the skin as well as thin layers of the epidermis, the result is that the skin’s surface is noticeably smoother. Any irregular pigmented spots, as a result of age or weathering, are also less noticeable, as they have been softened to reduce the contrast in tones.

The micro laser peel treatment process

During the micro laser peel treatment process, which is most often used to treat the face, hands and neck, the laser-resurfacing device precisely removes the outermost layers of skin. Several factors are considered by the skin care therapists at Avenue Skin Care’s Toronto clinic, when providing the micro laser peel. These include the specific skin conditions which are to be corrected. Some of these conditions are wrinkles and other fine lines, damage from sun exposure, acne scarring, and irregular pigmentation.

The procedure produces minimal tissue damage, resulting in faster healing time than with other skin resurfacing procedures.

Post-Treatment

Following the micro laser peel at Avenue Skin Care, the treated area will resemble varying degrees of sunburn. There may be minor sloughing on Day 2. Redness will begin to fade by Day 3, and can be covered with makeup on Day 4. Any discomfort can be easily controlled with over-the-counter medication. Sun block should be used when out in the sun. As the healing period progresses, patients will find the treated areas of the skin to be smoother, healthier and more vibrant. There will be a positive difference in the texture of the skin as well as its tightness.

The condition of the skin should continue to improve for up to six months. This is due to the increased stimulation of collagen in the dermis.

Treatment Schedule following micro laser peel

The skin therapists at Avenue Skin Care’s Toronto clinic will recommend the number of treatments it may take to achieve the patient’s wishes. The condition of the patient’s skin will also be a factor when determining the treatment schedule.

Micro laser Peels in Toronto may be performed four to six weeks apart, to achieve the patient’s desired result. Generally, this is the least invasive treatment. Micro laser peels that require a deeper pre-determined depth may be performed every six months to a year.

What can patients expect to see after a micro laser peel?

Most of Avenue Skin Care’s Toronto micro laser peel patients experience smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin, with an immediate improvement in skin texture and tightness. The tone and texture of the skin should continue to improve over 6 months, due to increased collagen stimulation in the deeper layers of the skin.
